Samantha Hassell, Secretary

Samantha was born and raised in Bennett, Colorado graduating in 2005. In her early teens she joined CCHA while participating in 4H, reaching her goal of going to the Colorado State Fair. During High School Sam began a new hobby called Cowboy Mounted Shooting. Horses have always been an important piece in Sam’s life. In her free time she likes to spend time with her 2 kids, go riding and just enjoy the sunshine. This year she will be working with a new horse and is beyond excited. Sam looks forward to a great 2018 year with friends and meeting new members!

Amanda Meier, Treasuer

Growing up Comanche Crossing Horsemen's Association was one of the first organization Amanda competed in and continued to be apart of until high school. She continued into 4-H, FFA, Little Britches Rodeo and earned a scholarship onto the Casper College Rodeo Team. At Casper she earned a degree in Agriculture Business. After college she returned to Byers and went on to earn her degree as a Medical Assistant. While in MA school she married her husband Jason and later had two children. She enjoys barrel racing, chasing kids around and spending time with family. Now that her kids are older she came back to CCHA for her kids to compete and mom riding time. Being apart of the 2018 officer team she hopes to invite more family's and individuals to join and enjoy the positive family atmosphere.

Starr Baxter, Sr Board Member

Starr has been in the saddle since before she could walk. Horses have always been a part of her life in one way or another. She grew up on a cattle ranch in Nebraska showing horses in 4-H, FFA, Open, AQHA Circuits and qualifying for AQHA Youth World. As an Adult Starr accomplished the rank of Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps and even took her horse “Cash” with her for Camp Pendleton, California until she had to deploy. Upon her return from Iraq it was her horses that saved her and brought her back to reality, Equine Therapy really does work! She enjoys working with her horses and others who are willing to learn. Currently her goals are to continue training in Ranch Riding and Reining on the AQHA level with hopes of qualifying for world in the next few years. Her goal as a board member for Comanche Crossing Horsemen’s Association is to help build up our membership, help others become better horsemen and most of all have fun while learning and bettering her and her horses skills.

Brittany McGillivray, Sr Board Member

Brittany has been a part of the CCHA for a year and half and became a board member at the beginning of the 2017 show year. Her personal goal as a CCHA board member is to be an example to other members regarding sportsmanship, encouragement, and contribution. She wants to see the club grow and become a fantastic family experience for all ages and abilities. Having 3 kids herself it is very important that the family fun aspect of the sport is not lost in competition. She grew up riding in all manner of horse related activities but her heart was always in O-Mok-See (patterned horse racing much like Gymkhana). She has been riding her whole life and horses are an essential part of who she is, only taking a back seat to her family. Currently she is training a coming 5 year old mare, Sage, to be an all-around horse for both show classes and speed events. If you have any questions she is more than happy to make herself available to answer them and if she doesn’t know the answer she will find someone that does. She hopes that everyone has a great show season and remembers that above all to have FUN!!
